102 miles | Check-in 6:00am | Start 6:30am
After a rolling warmup along West Dry Creek Road, turn east onto Yoakim Bridge Road at about 9 miles. In just over half a mile, turn left onto Dry Creek Road and head out to the first rest stop at Warm Springs Dam Recreation Area at 12.8 miles. Enjoy a home-made fresh beignet and get ready for the beginning of The Big Climb. There are actually four big climbs, and four smaller descents, over 12.5 miles with 3329 feet of total elevation gain. A self-serve rest stop will be waiting for those needing to refuel right at the top of the Rockpile Road summit. Turnaround and head back down the hill and enjoy a hard earned and truly enthralling epic descent! If you need a break, feel free to drop in again at the Warm Springs rest stop for another hot beignet. Backtrack a bit down Dry Creek Road before carefully turning onto Dutcher Creek, for a long, gentle climb that is followed by a beautiful descent with stunning vineyard vistas. Continuing north, cross Hwy 101 at Cloverdale before heading back south. At mile 50.7, the Fermata Coffee rest stop awaits, offering fresh coffee, beverages and fresh pastries. After refueling, head east onto Hwy 128 across the Russian River, over Red Winery Road before turning right onto Pine Flat Road. Head south for a short distance, arriving at the rest stop at Jimtown and Then Some, at mile 59. After a satisfying feast of fresh Dim Sum, head west, again crossing the Russian Riverback, back towards Healdsburg down Alexander Valley Road. After a short detour onto Lytton Springs, you will turn onto Healdsburg Avenue. At Grove Street you will access the Foss Creek Pathway to cruise through town. Jumping back onto the pavement, continue to the roundabout before getting back onto the pathway. After heading south out of Healdsburg and across the river, turn left onto Baihache Road for a gentle climb uphill along the Russian River to Rio Linda Academy. The next rest stop, hosted by the Healdsburg Wrestling Club, is located in the school’s gymnasium, at mile 71. After heading back down the hill, turn left onto Healdsburg Avenue and head south again toward the town of Windsor. Weave through some quiet roads in Windsor before turning onto rural West Mark Station Road. At Healdsburg-Trenton road take a right turn north. At mile 85.9, the final rest stop is located at Shone Farms, where the West Side School Parents Club will be offering up a bounty of home made treats. Ride out Wohler Road and then hop onto a very busy River Road-but only for a short 3 miles. Turn north onto Westside Road for a scenic 12 mile ride back to Bacchus Landing for the post ride celebration!
